Breeders of pedigreed dogs are booming
Breeders of pedigreed dogs are booming in this island province they fondly called “moriones island” referring to the infamous annual Moriones Festival being held in Marinduqe every lenten season. The ever increasing number of pet owners engaged in dog breeding for trading purposes keeps the office of the provincial veterinarian busy all day ensuring the health of this little gods creation…..GOOD NEWS! this craze open up another avenue for the locals to have an additional source of income.

Two (2) head dogs were confiscated at Balanacan Port, Mogpog town in the island province of Marinduque when the owner failed to present the necessary documents such as Veterinary Health Certificate and Rabies Vaccination Certificate. The apprehension of the said animals is part of the intensified quarantine activities in every major port of entries within the territorial jurisdiction of the Province of Marinduque, Philippines in order to maintain its Rabies-free status. The dogs were redeemed by the owner in good health, vaccinated against rabies and properly tagged after paying the penalty for his violations.
